Mohanlal joins ‘Kandahaar’

Superstar Mohanlal has started shooting for his new military movie ‘Kandahaar’. After 'Keerthichakra' and 'Kurukshetra', Mohanlal’s character Major Mahadevan will soon hit the screens with the mission of escapades of Air India flight that was hijacked. Scripted and directed by Major Ravi, the shooting of the movie is progressing in Koonar regiments at Ooty where Major Ravi is capturing Mohanlal taking classes to commandos.

The story based on the well-documented Kandahaar Air India flight hijacking incident of 1999, will also feature Amitabh Bachchan, Ganesh Venkatraman, Bollywood star Sunil Shetty, Tamil actress Kaveri Jha and Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi together with Lal, Anoop Menon, Sumalatha and KPAC Lalitha.

Co-produced by Mohanlal’s Pranavam Arts International, 'Kandahaar' will get to theatres by this October. The movie expected to be dubbed into Tamil and Hindi, will be completed in a whopping budget of Rs 10 crore.
